Trident Press International Atlas Gives Bad Information
name: U. S.
city: Hong Kong
problem: 05/27/2000
I bought "The 21st Century World Atlas",published by Trident Press international, 801-12th Ave South, Suite 302, Naples, 34102 Florida; $ 125
This thing has more mistakes than a 2nd-grade bad-pupil test on geographics. I sent them following e-mail, got no response of course.
PLEASE WARN US-CONSUMERS NOT TO WASTE MONEY ON THIS ATLAS
e-mail I sent to Trident two weeks ago:
"I bought your 21st Century World Atlas for $ 120.
Just going through quickly, about 15 minutes:
page 45: Distribution of Uralic languages is wrong, e.g. the whole of Hungary belongs in there.
page 593: It is GENOVA, not GENOA, in Italian. Smaller towns selected at random
page 568: Smaller towns and villages in Austria completely at random. You show some less than 1000 inhabitants villages, positively unimportant... but not all of them, and not the bigger, more important towns. It is as if someone would have thought, here is so much space, letīs just put in a name (like Italy.)
pages 477 and 491: HONG KONG is not there!!! You give Kowloon, which is a part of Hong Kong, and Xianggang (nobody knows what that is in Hong Kong) That is really a masterpiece, Hong Kong has only 7 million inhabitants.
These are countries I know, if the whole thing is that sloppy, you better call it back. I wasted my money, I am afraid.
If you have had any problems with this company, please file a complaint report we will add your comments to these. Conversly, you may send positive comments and they will be added as well.
