National Credit Audit Corporation is dunning me for "Betty Crocker Creative Recipes" that I never ordered and never received. Reading your web site confirmed my suspicions that this is a fraud. Please foreward to the Attorney General's office for the State of Minnesota as well as listing on your web site.

National Credit Audit - Bogus Charges. NCAC mailed claiming my wife owes $39.95 for Architectural Digest. A phone call to Architectural Digest revealed "an old cancelled one for $39.95" and they'll "write" to NCAC to have the collections stopped. The NCAC "collection" notice did not include date of subscription or account number or anything that looked remotely legitimate. I am taking the "collection" notice to the USPS in the morning even though it's Christmas for fraud investigation since it's crystal clear that this is postal fraud.

Bogus magazine suscriptions being sent to our home from National Credit Audit Corporation agency. We have tried to cancel this, it has affected my son's credit report as non-payment. We have written this company on numerous occasions and they will stop sending magazines for about two or three months, then we start receiving them again. Is there anything legally we can do? They are a consumer nightmare!

I just rec'd a collection notice from National Credit Audit Corporation for a Cook's Magazine subscription that I didn't order. I saw online that they settled a lawsuit against them in Illinois for the same scam. I have emailed the law firm to find out if a similar suit has been settled in Missouri. I guess I will have to respond to the notice, just to be sure they don't mess with my credit. This is the worst thing I've ever seen a company do to try and sell magazines.

National Credit Audit Corporation, took advantage of me as well. Just after my husband passed away I received a "Collection Notice" from them for $50 I was very upset because I was trying to get my bills and credit in order, I was a young mother and didn't need the hassle of bad credit. I then sent them a letter stating that I had never ordered the NATIONAL ENQUIRER. They sent another collection letter and I paid. Since I have been receiving the magazine and have continually put it in the mail box marked return to sender. I talked to both the magazine and the credit company and told them I wanted a refund for their deceiving practices and of course they are not willing to help. PLEASE IF YOU RECEIVE A LETTER FROM NCAC DON'T PAY! They are a dishonest company trying to trick you into ordering a magazine.

RE: Cooks Illustrated Magazine. I have tried to cancel this subsciption multiple times in which they turned over to N.C.A.C. I have tried and tried to get this straighted out to no avail. I keep getting collection notices even after Cooks Illustrated has reassured me that the matter is straightened out. I have found out that there is a law suit filed against Nat.Credit Audit Corp for this very thing - http://www.edcombs.com/CM/Notices/notices47.asp. Also need an updated info on N.C.A.C. their email addys are incorrect. Thank you

I want to add this to the long list of complaint that you already have about National Credit Audit Corporation. They are still at it with their bogus Collection Notices. This time in reference to a Cars & Parts Magazine that I never subscribed to, but did agree to receiving 2 trial issues "with no obligation to purchase"; I only received 1 issue. I have copied the myriad of complaints off of your website to mail back to them and will also send copies to the Post Master General and to my State's Attorney General. Thank you for having this information available.

Like the others, I received a call and was lured into the deal of paying a certain amoun monthly for a certain number of months and I would receive a lifetime supply of magazines and never have to pay again. I was also told that I was under no obligation with IRL and that I could cancel my subscription at any time without penalty...I also have the paperwork to prove this...the company was pro-customer satisfaction. Anyway, I started getting a swamp load of magazines, some of which I don't even read and since I work full time and go to college full time I couldn't read most of the magazines. I also started receiving a swamp load of junk mail. Then later on, my credit card started to reach the limit and I could not keep up with the high interest rates because they were charging 45.00 a month on my credit card. So I called them and they told me they could not cancel my subscription because my contract was prepaid. I told them I was moving overseas. What I had to do was submit my cancellation in writing before the 28th of that month. I sent the letter immediately, but they still kept charging my credit card. I had to send 2 more letters(in a matter of 3 months) to actually receive a reply that my card would no longer be charged. The lady on the phone explained to me that I would still continue receiving magazines up to the amount of what was charged on my card (about 6 or 7 months) but after I finally received the reply, the magazines stopped coming. Since then, I have called them and they always say to call during office hours when I already am calling in broad daylight. I've sent them a total of three letters asking about the magazines...but I have no gotten a reply. I think they should either send me a check for a refund of credit my account. I feel like I've been ripped off and I am not able to issue a chargeback with my credit card company. I feel that it is part of the scam that the company takes so long to reply because there is like a 6 month period in which the credit card can do something...so they just pretend not to reply so that we exceed the 6 month grace period...before we know it, it's too late to do anything. I hope you bring this company down and get all our money back. It just isn't fair to be ripped off like this.

I received a billing yesterday from National Credit Audit Corporation for "unpaid" magazine subscription for Christianity Today. I took advantage of a "risk free" three issue trial returning the billing marked cancelled. I received no additional magazines, but continued to receive billings. Now, I receive a demand from a collection demand for a bill that I cancelled and for magazines that I never received. Quite a stretch for the imagination that a publishing company that uses the name "Christianity" in its masthead would engage such a disreputable company (from the comments I read on your complaint postings) to harrass individuals who cancel their subscription.

I ordered 26 issues of US News and World Report for $15.00 which I paid and I have the cancelled check. This was done in Jan.18, 2002. About 6 weeks ago I got a Collection Notice from "National Credit Audit Corporation" which alleges I never paid the $15. The check was written on my Bank of America account and was cancelled by the bank. I received all the 26 issues, and I thought it was all over until I got the collection notice. If they had an "800" phone number I would call them. They don't. I don't want to waste a stamp on these crooks or call them on their regular phone line. They are in Peoria,IL. What should I do next?

Today I recieved a very offical collection letter from National Credit Audit Corporation regarding collection for a past due account for $27.95 for a magazine subscription that I did not recieve. I got one issue of Nursing 2002 in the mail without requesting it and have received none since. Now they want money from me. Hell no! I called the phone number listed and went through a very long menu in order to tell them that I did not order the magazine. If this problem is not resolved, I will take action. Consumers beware!

I responded to an online offer from Memory Makers magazine for a "free" issue of their publication. When I received my first invoice I returned it with "cancel" written across the front, as per their instructions. What has insued is over a year of letters and notices regarding my delinquent account. According to Memory Makers my subscription was cancelled but I continue to receive notices from the National Credit Audit Corporation. What a scam! If I had known how much my "free" magazine would have cost me in aggravation, I would have glady skipped the whole thing.

Today I received in the US mail a "Collection Notice" from National Credit Audit Corporation in Peoria, Ill. The notice read, in part, "The publisher tells us you placed an order, received their magazine, but have failed to pay the $24.97." I did receive one issue of the magazine, decided NOT TO SUBSCRIBE, and received no further issues. I did not subscribe to the magazine. I received ONE issue of your magazine, which was an offer of the sort "if you decide not to subscribe we'll stop mailing the magazine, which, indeed is what happened.
I am extremely resentful of the fact that I now have to write a letter to National Credit Audit Corporation, and settle this matter. I find this marketing strategy to be abominable. Shame on Scientific American.name: K. K.

When I signed up for an email service in Oct. 2001, there was a *no opt out* requirement to accept three "free" issues of the Star, the Globe, and the National Inquirer.
Before I even received the "free" issues, these tabloids becgan sending me bills, none of which included any instructions re: cancelling the "subscription". Since I hadn't wanted, or specifically requested, any subscription, AND since the only related instruction was that "if you do not pay us, we will no be able to continue your subscription", I never paid. However, the bills came with annoying regularity that, in my view, crossed over into harassment.
Finally, I received a strongarm letter from the "National Credit Audit Corporation", demanding that I pay for something I had never received (the subscription - since the first issues were supposedly free and without obligation). Ergo, I simp0ly followed those directions.
I found the information at www.consumersrevenge.com via an internet search on this group, since I have never heard of any real collection agency trying to collect money for unreceived and/or unrequested goods, esp. since the latter do not carry any legal obligation to pay for them (and no-opt-out pop-ups that appear AFTER signing up for an unrelated service does not constitute a binding request). In fact, I even wrote to the California State Attorney General about this incident, and did not reply to this so-called "collection agency".
Today, approximately a month later, I received another, more threatening letter from them, still insisting that I owe money for something I neither ordered nor received. Even worse, the Star/Globe/Inquirer had sent me a subscription *reneawal* form about 2 weeks ago.
Anyone who can add 2+2 can look at the evidence and know that this is completely bogus and evidently just a strongarm tactic being used to try to frighten people into paying for this dreck. I do not unbderstand how this can be legal, how they can be allowed to continue these extortion attempts.
I consider this harassment, and the stress is impacting my stress levels, hence my life and health. The question is, How do I get these people off my back??

I have also been recieving collection notices after recieving a "RISK FREE TRIAL SUBSCRIPTION OFFER",from PC Gamer magazine. I recieved a bill and nasty letter shortly after recieving the first trial issue. I had intended to subscribe (having been a former subscriber). However, I was so offended by this practice that I have never purchased another issue since. I had complied with all of the ad's instructions, and did not recieve any subsequent issues after the notice. -What a bunch of jerks!
If you have had any problems with this company, please file a complaint report we will add your comments to these. Conversly, you may send positive comments and they will be added as well.
