As the webmaster for Jd marvel products, I work closely with the customer service reps and I know that all customer issues are taken care of and all orders are delivered. Maybe these people have some suggestions to improve customer service.

JD Marvel receives an average of 50, 000 orders a month. If a order is not shipped within 35 days a note goes out to the consumer stating the anticipated delivery date. A customer at any time may be able to ask and will receive a full refund. Nearly all our advertising material mentions allow 3-5 weeks for delivery. In the last 24 months they have shipped over a million orders with 250,000 buying 2 times or more during that period. The company has been in operation since 1993 and has grown each year by selling unique products at low prices, not by ripping people off as some would have you believe.

We at Clearpoint simply wish the problem with JD Marvel would go away. We receive many calls from concerned customers of JD Marvel who have not received the merchandise they have ordered. Our customer service representatives do what they can to help put the individual in touch with JD Marvel. That is all we can do. Again, there is no connection between the two companies at all.

Clearpoint takes pride in providing a high level of customer service. We do not sell merchandise unless we are sure there is enough to satisfy the current demand. Our customer service representatives are empowered to solve problems - usually with the first contact. Our phone lines are open at 888-840-9999 and we can be reached. If an item is on backorder, we notify the customer and provide an option to cancel the order if that is what the customer wishes.

On 24 Nov. 2002, I ordered two ear pieces (hearing devices) from J. D. Marvel Products via an advertisement flier in the local Sunday newspaper. My check in the amount of $22.95 cleared on 5 December 2002. Since then, I have received nothing from them, no package, no correspondence. More than seven weeks have passed since the order was placed. It is time for delivery or full refund. Astronauts have travelled to the moon and brought back rocks in less time than this!

I am very disturbed about this and from the letters that I've read I feel that I really have no recourse. I have already warned my friends and relatives to NOT EVER purchase ANYTHING with the name of J.D. Marvel Products attached to it! I would like to be included in any suit against this company.

When I did a search on the web I discovered there are many others that seem to have been 'taken in' by this company. I wish I would have known about this fraudulent company earlier, but now I know that thousands of people have gone through exactly what I have gone through, and have no refund or product to show for it. I think that the customers that have ordered from this company should file a lawsuit or something. We CANNOT LET THESE CROOKS STEAL OUR HARD EARNED MONEY LIKE THIS!!!! I ordered 2 pairs of leather slippers (one for myself and one as a birthday gift for my daughter) from JD Marvel Products on August 7, 2002, from a paper insert advertisement. It is now September 16, 2002 and I have not received my ordered items nor heard one word from JD Marvel on the status of my order. This company promptly cashed my check within 1 week of receiving it, which I received the cashed check in my Sept. statement. Since I did not have a phone number for this company, I had my daughter search the internet for the phone number, and to our "SHOCK" all we found were MILLIONS of COMPLAINTS about this company. My purchase was not for a lot of money, that is not the issue here... the issue is that this supposedly "FRAUD" company NOW has my checking account information. I contacted my bank today to inform them of this situation and all they said was I had to contact the company directly. Seeing from the many complaints filed here, I do not see myself having any luck contacting this company by phone.. but I will try anyway. What do we do then? This is just unbelieveable that this company has gotten away with this fraud activity for such a long period of time. They MUST BE STOPPED!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Three e-mails only automated response - one long distance phone call - customer service representative - young girl that hates her job and all the complaints about poor service she has to handle. Suggested she try and get a job with a GOOD and RELIABLE company.

Last e-mail I sent to this disreputable company:

It is enough of your automated responses to compaints of dissatisfied customers. I have seen hundreds of compaints on the Internet and too much and too late.

I have placed three e-mail responses to your company with no satisfaction. I have called your long distance number at my expense only to talk to a young girl in customer service that hated her job and had more compaints than she could possibly handle. My suggestion to her was that she somehow obtain a job with a legitimate company and not one who scams the public.

So, you have my $25.00 plus shipping charges - - no communication - - just sock it in the bank- - baby and hang in there. You know, you will get yours................

I would rather imagine you are the disgrace of Mail Order business in which customers place their trust. Your guarantee of SERVICE, QUALITY and CONFIDENCE means absolutely nothing.

I am ashamed at having to try and do business with a company such as J. D. Marvel Products.

I ordered a Pedi-unique nail care system from J.D. Marvel Products by mail back in December (2001). I enclosed a cheque for $28.35 which they promptly cashed on December 7th. The flier from which I ordered the Pedi-unique indicated delivery in 4-6 weeks; that would have been early to mid January. Today is February 27th and I have not received any news from them. I sent an email to them one week ago and have not had a reply. Their Internet site touts their first "core value" as customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, after placing my order, I read many similar complaints on the Internet against this company so I suspect this is all talk, no action.

I'm so glad that I found a place where I can vent my frustration against J.D. Marvel Products Inc. This company should be closed down and its assets frozen.

My problem is that I ordered from them a minidisk TV/FM antenna on November 5, 2001, and with my order was a cheque for $40.65. The cheque was cashed on November 15, 2001, but the dish has yet to be delivered (we now are on Valentine's Day 2002!). Before knowing that I was not the only one having this problem, I sent the company a complaint by e-mail to (info@jdmarvelproducts.com) on January 5, 2002 but never received a reply. I then sent them a registered letter on January 16, 2002 but again with no response.

I do appreciate if I can get my money back from them, but I also like to see justice done to them for all the suffering they caused to so many people.

Does not make any sense that I could not cancel before the product was shipped. This company just cannot be on the up and up.

I ordered a simple item, "Lighted Makeup Mirror from J.D. Marvel Products, Inc., Dept. 721-109, Champlain, NY 12919 October 19, 2001. They cashed my check and NO mirror was delivered. I sent them 3 letters and still No mirror. I would either like the mirror delivered or a refund.Today I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at 741 Delaware Avenue, Ste. 100, Buffalo, N.Y. 14209-2201. They cover that area where J.D. Marvel Products are located. I also plan to place a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and the Postmaster General. After doing a little research, I have discovered that there have been numerous complaints against this company for cashing checks, taking people's charge accounts and not delivering the product.

October 31,2001 I sent a check to jd marvel for $15.75 for 2 pairs of slippers from a mailing I recieved in a value pack full of coupons. The check was cashed on Nov. 13, 2001. No product was ever shipped. I tried to contact the company and someome from harling direct notified me that there was no order from NC in their records. She also wants me to send a copy of the check they cashed to her. I do not feel comfortable doing this, but I may with the account number blacked out just to see what happens. No, losing $15.75 is not going to break me, but it burns me up to know that thousands of people have been ripped off by this company and they are getting rich. It seems like the law is protecting them and not the consumer. If anything comes from my further investigation of this I will post it. If anyone has any suggestions please contact. Thanks

I ordered two pairs of bedroom slippers from J.D.Marvel Products, Inc., in Champlain, N.Y. I got the advertisement from the Sunday Paper ad/coupon section. I mailed them a check for $17.70 on November 20. When I had not received the shoes by mid-December, I tried to call the number listed on the ad. I called for four days straight and received nothing but an answering machine before 9:00 a.m. and a busy signal after 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. FINALLY after four days, I spoke to someone who informed me the slippers were on back order and would not be in until January. I told her they were supposed to be Christmas presents and that no one had contacted me that the shoes were not in stock. I was very upset, as the least they could have done was to let me know and given me the option of canceling the order or waiting for the shoes to come in. On December 20 I informed the lady I wanted a full refund. I then sent a letter as their ad said "Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back." It is now January 23 and no refund. I think people like this should be arrested for false advertisement, unfair and deceptive acts and practices of trade or commerce, fraud, and any other charge we can find.

We too have been duped by J.D. Marvel Company!! We ordered shoes and have not received them as yet. They also cashed our check in less than a week. We also ordered from a supplement in our Sunday paper. Apparently, we cannot get through to the company. However, why let anyone else have to suffer with this annoyance? Maybe what we all need to do is pressure our local newspapers not to carry the Marvel Co. supplements anymore. Just the fact that they will send them out in their newspaper, appears that they condone these actions. Call your particular state's consumer advocate office and complain. If government agencies and the Better Business Bureau know that they are running a blatant scam, why is no one doing anything about it??? It's not the money...it never seems to be very much. BUT...10,000 people sending in an average of $20 per person does amount to a tidy sum. I wish earning my living was just as easy! I earn my money the old fashioned way, Mr. Dragan, (Owner and CEO of J.D. Marvel Co.)the HARD way. I work for mine!!!

When I called their Canada number it was always busy. I am also going to file w/ the US Postal inspectors about this -- and to think I also work for the Post Office too. My mother who is 84 had me write a check and fill out an order form for two hearing aids from an insert advertisement in our local newspaper to J. D. Marvel Company. I mailed in the order in October and the check has been cashed but the hearing aids have not arrived and it's the last of December. If this company can't deliver, they shouldn't be advertising and should never cash a check if they have no intentions of shipping the items they advertise. I have printed out 18 pages of complaints against this company and am wondering "why" isn't the better business bureau or some legal organization going after this company? What does it take to put a company like this out of business or at least hold them responsible to ship the items for which they are paid? My mother is on a limited income and although this isn't a lot of money, it is still fraud and needs to be stopped. Can you help with this problem, or are you just a place that people have to send complaints? What needs to be done next to take care of this "SHAM" company?

I try calling their customer service number and cannot get through. When I went in on their web site, I couldn't believe what I saw. This company is on high alert and there are numerous complaints about people paying for merchandise they never receive. There must be something that can be done to stop this so called company from continuing to steal from the public. I do want my merchandise or my $18.75 back. They had no trouble in cashing my check. I have ordered bras in the past from JD Marvel products and have never had a problem with recieving them. But the last two times I have ordered from them there has been a problem. I ordered two bras and some other things from them in September, I got everything except my bras they said they were on back order. But I have still not recieved them. I then placed another order with them recieved evereything but the soothing seas clock. This time there was no note that it was on back order. Just no clock. I have also ordered some magnetic braclets and have yet to see them. I hope there is something you can do because I have had no luck. In August, J.D. Marvel Products Inc. cashed a check I wroteon 8/19/01 for $31.55 for bras. Nothing ever received, not able to contact anyone. Today, I received a catalog from them in the mail. Apparently they kept my address from my order and/or check. I would appreciate my money back. If that's not possible, I would minimally like this company stopped from using the U.S. mails. Thank you for anything you can do!

I see that many people are having problems with J.D. Marvel Products, and I thought I would include a good experience I had dealing with this company. About six months ago I ordered a comfort bra from them, and I promptly recieved it in the mail. Unfortunately the size was wrong, and I returned it. I recieved a refund cheque in the mail within 3 weeks.

I don't believe that this company is fraudulent, just disorganized and unprofessional (I take this from the descriptions I read on your site, not from my own experience). I say that when dealing with any mail-order company, you are taking your chances. This is a risk you take when dealing with companies you know absolutely nothing about. Anyway, that's my two cents worth.
