I purchased a Fedders/Emerson thru-the-wall air conditioner unit from Appliance Discount in PA. The unit didn't work, so the company exchanged it for a new one. That too did not work...I finally asked for my money back. I then went to American Appliance and purchased another of the same brand. Apparently, not many manufacturers carry thru the wall air conditioner units need for condominiums. Well, this third air conditioner didn't work!! So, I purchased American Appliance's warrenty when I bought the unit. I called them, they had to send someone out to look at the unit. I had to miss a day of work to wait hours for this man to come, and he only stood in front of it and said, yes, it's not blowing out cold air!! NO SHIT!! Tell me something I didn't know. So....he says I have to call American Appliance AGAIN for someone to come and pick it up!!! Well, I had to miss another day of work to wait for them to come and get this piece of junk unit!! Well....needless to say, they don't have loaners. I live on the 4th floor of the building and I was left with a huge gaping hole in my wall until the unit could be fixed!!! Not only was it unbearably hot, but I had to staple a trash bad in front of this whole so my kittens wouldn't jump out!! Finally, I borrowed money to buy another air conditioner because it was going on three weeks and the other one wasn't fixed yet!!! I found a totally different brand of through the wall for $600.00!!! Finally, American Appliance calls me and tells me there is nothing wrong w/the unit!!! So, they return it to my home, where it is sitting on an tv stand in my spare bedroom!! I called Emerson/Fedders who make this Emerson Quiet Kool air conditioner and they don't want to have anything to do with me!!! So, it's been sitting there for 2 years now!!! My neighbor needed an air conditioner, so I let her try this piece of shit one that's turned out to be a $500.00 ugly decoration, and again it didn't work!!! I wrote to the better business bureau and they never even responded to me!! Anyway, I'm not wealthy, nor do I have a job at the moment. But, both American Appliance of Pennsylvania and Fedders/Emerson of New Jersey could give two shits that what I purchased from them didn't work. According to them, it's just too bad!!! Needless to say, I haven't a clue what to do about. Should I pay someone to fix this unit..if it's even fixable or do I just through it out. Either way, I've wasted $500.00 bucks on this piece of junk. Therefore, I will never ever purchase anything made by Emerson/Fedders and never purchany any item from American Appliance in any state!! Please be warned..this could happen to you. These two companies were the lowest and dumbest individuals I'd ever had to deal with!! Hope this helps someone to avoid the same problem as I had!!
