Learned that ameritech charges a penalty for not having a long distance carrier. Charge to us is eight dollars a month. We chose ATT. Recieved our bill. penality charge of ten dollars for not making atleast the minimum calls equalling to ten dollars and on top of that they charge for surcharges $7.95 a month. Our total bill $17.95 for the month. Explained to them that we have a calling card with a company and use it if we need to make a long distance call. This is outrage to the consumer to be penalized for not calling long distance and being charged for it. Why aren't people complaining about this? thank you.
