Alloy.com - Gift Certificate Missing - and others!

ALLOY.COM advertises to have your orders to you by Dec 24th if placed by Dec 14th. I placed an order and paid by Dec 11th for a winter ski coat and 2 shirts. After checking for a couple days with the confimation email they send withthe tracking information, I send numerous emails and called customer service to ask what the problem was. No response or feedback of any kind. Dec 18th I get an E-mail telling me my order has been shipped 12/18 and to expect it in 7-10 working days! AFTER CHRISTMAS! I call, get through and they tell me they are sorry but there is nothing they can do. I paid, they have my money. I placed an order well before the cut off time and they slacked and there's nothing they can do! They gave me 4 reasons why it wasnt out on time, no that even amount to anything. It's their job to ship and deliver when they promise, even more so during Christmas! They did state they could charge me AGAIN and send an overnight and then refund MY money 8-12 weeks after they recieve the 1st order back and process my refund!!!! I asked to speak to anyone other than supervisors and they said there were no managers there. No way to help. This is a Christmas gift and I shouldn't have to pay twice because they messed up so bad. Very bad Business! Poor Service and as a business owner I would ship the items and trust the customer to return the others if they already paid and I didnt follow my end of the transaction. I haven't had to, but that's the right thing to do and I would if the need came up.

I ordered a pair of boots from Alloy.com In December. I ordered $50. Trooper Boots that lace up in the front and zip on the side. I only had the boots for about two months and the seams in the back of the boots were coming loose. I sent a complaint a month ago and no one has replied back. I even sent the boots back. I'm asking to either replace my boots or give me my money back.That was all my sweet 16 birthday money. I didn't have the boots long enough to even enjoy them! Please figure something out or I'll ask my friends to boycot this company! Lisa

I placed an order with Alloy.com on 12/13/99 for a gift certificate. I paid extra for 3 day shipping as advised by the Alloy operator so it would arrive by Christmas. It hadn't arrived by 12/18 so I called the company's 800 number 17 times between 12/18 and 12/23 and NEVER talked to an operator! I was put on hold every time by a machine for extended lengths of time. Finally on the 23rd of Dec. I got an operator who informed me it wasn't even sent yet!!! I had also sent 2 e-mails to the company on Dec. 19 and 20 with no response until Jan 3rd!!!!!! When I was informed per this e-mail that they were sending my order within 3 days!!! The Alloy catalog states "All orders are shipped next day" and "we inform the customer within 5 days of order if there is a problem." Well NONE of this was done! Also the e-mail I recieved from their customer service was full of mispellings! Not the professionalism I expect from a major company! In summary Alloy has been my worst shopping experience on the internet I have ever had!
